Core JAVA Application development experience of 2 years

Past experience of designing or working on frameworks

Worked on JUNIT or other unit testing frameworks

Good at communications

Knowledge of coding standards and best practices

Desirable :

Understanding of test automation

Hands on experience of scripting(Shell, Perl, etc).

Knowledge or preliminary experience on QA processes and testing methodologies

Experience in Agile development process

Worked with large teams and virtual teams (across Globe)

Basic understanding or working knowledge of Flex/Flash technologyThe Staff SQA Engineer directs and coordinates activities that ensure product quality.Primary responsibilities for role:- Proactively seek out ways to improve technical and developmental skills.- Participate in user’s groups and external organizations that will improve personal skills.- Accurately report individual status to required levels of leadership/management.- Attend required departmental and project meetings.- Design and create test plans within area of responsibility.- Assist team members with test planning.- Execute tasks to meet or exceed delivery commitments.- Define risks that may impact the schedule. Suggest actions to eliminate or mitigate risks.- Accurately estimate sizing, schedules and resource estimates within area of responsibility.- Significantly contribute to specification, test plan and test case reviews. Shares information, acts as team player and embraces teamwork.

Position Requirements

Products and Services/Client Responsibilities:- Create and maintain test scripts in applicable programming or scripting language.- Execute tests, detect problems, analyze failures and maintain test environment.- Clearly and accurately report problems found during testing via the Vantive system.- Act as integral member of team responsible for creation and maintenance of all project and test documentation.- Update and enhance test suites and test methods in order to improve the validation of changes to products.- Follow established organizational processes.- Participate in the documentation, development and improvement of processes and procedures.- Participate in development and tracking of metrics.- Demonstrate ability to work through a full development lifecycle in area of responsibility.Interaction (Internal and External Communication)Customer and Peer Group Interaction – Take direction from management and team leads.- Form positive relationships within and across departments.- Proactively identify areas where additional resources or guidance is required. Know when to escalate issues.- Assist others in areas of expertise. Provide mentorship to junior members of the team.- Show capability of working under limited supervision (self-motivation, self-initiative).- Team membership: Act in the best interest of the entire team.- A summary of the most important qualifications for the position.- 4-6 years experience.- Breadth and Depth of Skills- Demonstrate significant Computer Science, database, operating system and Quality Assurance knowledge.- Demonstrate significant knowledge of a set of industry standards testing tools.- Demonstrate ability to identify, isolate and solve problems within area of responsibility. May specialize in one or more areas.- Demonstrate ability to solve in-depth technical issues in multiple areas.- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of BMC product.Physical Requirements: Light physical exertion, routine beinging and lifting may be required. Ability to carry computer equipment (laptops, UNIX portable machines, etc.) weighing up to 30 pounds when traveling.

3 to 5 years experience.
