QA Manager
Good understanding of Web based applications architecture & testing

Good understanding of automation. Should have handled/worked on 2 automation projects. Experience with WinRunner is a plus but not a requirement

Good communication skills

Should have previously managed Leads/Assoc QA Managers (2 )

S/he will be managing @ 40 people. S/he will have direct responsibility of managing spend and sourcing product.

Has good understanding of software metrics and should have implemented it in the projects

Should be able to contribute ideas for improving test coverage, quality and team productivity

Will be reporting to head of engineering India operations with dotted line reporting to Director of Quality in US

We are not looking for person who has or is playing test coordinator role and/or is looking only at number of people to manage. Position requires person to be hands on. S/he will not be writing test cases or automation but should be in position to review, suggest improvements etc

Should be able to guide the team members functionally & technically
Should be able to contribute ideas for improving test coverage, quality and team productivity
Will be reporting to head of engineering pune with dotted line reporting to Director of Quality in US
Should understand the requirements fully and initiate discussions with concerned people to seek clarifications on unclear/unspecified requirements
Should do the impact analysis of the changed requirements
Should be doing test planning which includes tasks assigned to the team as well as independent testing assignments.
Defect management which includes logging, reviewing bugs & expediting the bug fixing
Should be able to setup & maintain the test environment which includes installing/configuring database/web server on windows/UNIX, installing & deploying the application and doing trouble shooting when required
Should be able to design / understand Test strategy and create test cases and test data accordingly
Manitaining and keeping up to date, all the testing related documents
Tracking the progress of self & team members (for the current project)
Should be able to identify and suggest areas for test automation
