7 July 2010PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To lead a team of testers within technical sub-function comprising of software testers and meet/exceed Quality objectives of the same.3 to 7 years experience.
AREAS OF FOCUS
CLIENT/INTERNAL PARTNERS
•Ensure clients and internal partners are satisfied with the quality of the applications developed
•Ensure clients/internal partners are updated on project deliverables and schedules
•Ensure prompt and clear response is provided to client/internal partner queries pertaining to project status, QA results, and any other project related issues ensuring client satisfaction
•Attempt to create a good rapport with clients/internal partners and attempt to develop cordial working relationships
OPERATIONAL
•Ensure all applications meet and exceed all quality requirements
•Design and manage test plans based on ever-changing software requirements for products on multiple platforms (Java/.Net)Supervise and Develop Writing of Test cases
•Institute development of a proper procedures for testing any application developed and ensure its implementation, review and constant up-gradation
•Assist the project Supervisors and Business managers in development of project plans and setting up QA procedures
•Contribute in the scoping, testing, and maintenance of application development and research & development
•Review quality performance of each developer and each product periodically to provide leading indicators of failure to align performance as per business goals
•Institute processes and identify tools to improve defect identification and prevention
PEOPLE
•Train and mentor testers on software quality methods, processes and workflows
•Participate in the selection process to ensure the right talent is selected in a timely manner.
•Develop, groom, coach team members so that they are able to perform better / as per the business objectives and Ugam culture.
•Facilitate transfer of talent to other teams and absorb talent from other teams.
•Clearly define and communicate KRA’s and KPI’s for direct reportees.
•Ensure timely completion of appraisals.
•Respond to and resolve employee grievance in a timely manner.
•Ensure employees are highly motivated and have a high morale.
